New York, NY – December 7, 2017 – EnergyHub, the leading provider of connected device and distributed energy resource platform services for utilities, announced today it has successfully completed the first season of a demand response program with two of AVANGRID’s operating companies: New York State Electric and Gas Company (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E).

Smart Savings Rewards allows customers to enroll their thermostat or window air conditioner components in AVANGRID’s demand response program. Customers can select from a wide variety of eligible thermostats.

More than 5,000 customers have successfully enrolled in the innovative program to date, allowing AVANGRID to reduce strain on the grid during hot and humid days while putting money back in the pockets of participating customers.

“EnergyHub provided AVANGRID with a single platform that gave our customers real choice in how they participated in our demand response program,” said Reggie Hoffman, program manager, Demand Response Program, AVANGRID. “The first season of the Smart Savings Reward program was successful, and EnergyHub’s software and program management expertise played a significant role in that.”

In addition to providing a software platform, EnergyHub provides NYSEG and RG&E with turnkey services that include program management, marketing and recruiting, customer enrollment, installation services, and customer support.

AVANGRID customers can visit https://www.smartsavingsrewards.com/ — a sophisticated customer enrollment portal designed specifically to maximize customer participation in the program.

“Programs like Smart Savings Rewards show that AVANGRID is committed to finding innovative ways to engage its customers,” said Seth Frader-Thompson, President and Co-founder of EnergyHub. “This program provides an enhanced experience to AVANGRID customers and helps promote the adoption of new energy technologies, all within the vision of New York REV.”

All devices enrolled in the program are dispatched from EnergyHub’s Mercury DERMS, the industry’s first DERMS built specifically to manage grid-edge assets. Mercury is used by more than 30 utilities across the United States to manage demand response, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resource (DER) programs.
