EnergyHub announces demand response integration with Emerson's Sensi™ Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat

New York, NY – May 18, 2016 - EnergyHub, the leading provider of connected device management for utilities, announced today that its utility customers can use EnergyHub’s Mercury platform to enroll and dispatch Emerson’s Sensi Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat. Emerson customers are already participating in demand response programs with several EnergyHub utility clients.

The Sensi thermostat is the latest device to become available to EnergyHub’s utility customers for demand response, including EnergyHub’s industry-leading Bring Your Own Thermostat® (BYOT) demand response programs. BYOT is a customer-centric approach to demand response that allows consumers to buy and install the thermostat of their choice and enroll that thermostat in a utility demand response program.

EnergyHub’s Mercury platform is the most widely deployed BYOT platform for utilities. Combining sophisticated, data-driven demand response capability with a customer enrollment portal designed specifically for onboarding BYOT customers, Mercury includes all of the tools necessary for a utility to rapidly stand up a BYOT demand response program.

Mercury is also optimized for direct-install demand response, allowing utilities to deploy a program with a thermostat that best suits their needs for customer engagement and load control capability. The Sensi thermostat is available to utilities for both BYOT and direct-install demand response programs.

The Sensi thermostat offers several features that differentiate it from other remote-access thermostats. It was the first Wi-Fi thermostat to achieve Energy Aware certification and is one of the most precise thermostats with +/- one-degree accuracy. It works with most heating and cooling systems and offers an easy DIY install and intuitive mobile app. Compatible with smart home platforms like Amazon Echo and Wink, the Sensi thermostat works alongside other smart home products for improved home energy management.
